Maps and Landscapes
Ongoing · Graphite on paper · 21 × 30 cm
A few lines are drawn and a place appears. There are ridges, watersheds, fractures, none of them standing for anywhere.
Each drawing begins with a few marks and goes where they lead. Some come out seen from above and some looking out across them. Only edges get drawn, and the white stays unmarked. Nothing carries a size, so a ridge, a watershed and a fracture running through a stone are made with the same mark. Where Atlas is a series with a rule, these have no rule past the first few lines and whatever they suggest next.
