Using 3D animation, sound, and photography, Tender Unknown transformed the interior of the pavilion in Spökparken into a meeting place between human and nonhuman worlds.

Trees have long offered support and comfort, holding personal significance in many lives. Cyanotypes, 3D-animation. 2023. Magnetic Samples is an ongoing work exploring how we can perceive the universe by making the fundamental forces more tangible, using the cyanotypes to make magnetic fields visible through iron filings and artificially simulating gravity in 3D animation.

Trees captured through photogrammetry move around the viewer, suspended and anchored to the sky instead of rooted in the ground, and influenced by simulated wind. 3D graphics, the trees, and the simulated wind together generate a new, hybrid reality, re-imagining what “trees” are.
